Faridkot Police have arrested a 23-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman with 1 kg 118 grams of heroin as part of their ongoing campaign against drug trafficking in Punjab.

Police also recovered a Splendor motorcycle, two mobile phones and ₹5,100 in suspected drug money from the accused. Investigators are now trying to trace the source of the heroin consignment and identify those allegedly involved in its further distribution.

According to police, the action was carried out on October 2 by a team of the CIA Staff, Faridkot, near a deserted petrol pump close to Khara village.

Police team was on patrol and conducting checks on suspicious persons while travelling from Jaito towards Kotkapura via Harinau Mor and Khara. During the operation, the officers noticed a man and a woman standing suspiciously near a motorcycle.

The two were taken into custody and questioned. A search was subsequently conducted in the presence of DSP Kotkapura Sanjeev Kumar, following due legal procedure.

During the search, police recovered 1.118 kg of heroin, along with the motorcycle, two mobile phones and ₹5,100 in alleged drug money.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Sajan Kumar, son of Joginder Singh, a resident of Panjheke Uttar village in Ferozepur district, and Raj Kaur alias Chhindar, wife of Baljit Singh, a resident of Chandigarh Basti, Ladhu Ka Mandi, Fazilka district.

Heroin Consignment Allegedly Brought From Fazilka-Ferozepur

Preliminary police investigation has indicated that the accused allegedly brought the heroin consignment from Fazilka/Ferozepur districts and intended to supply it to different parts of Punjab.

Police are investigating the alleged network and the role of other people who may be linked to the supply chain.

Woman Accused Has Previous Cases

According to police, Raj Kaur has previously faced criminal cases. A case was registered against her at Sadar Fazilka police station in 2022 under various sections, while two cases under the NDPS Act were registered against her in 2026.

Further investigation into the case is underway.
