Fatehgarh Sahib Member of Parliament Dr. Amar Singh met Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and raised several important issues related to railway infrastructure and passenger facilities in his Lok Sabha constituency.

During the meeting, Dr. Amar Singh strongly pushed for the proposed 53-km new railway line between Mullanpur, Raikot and Barnala. He said that despite being an important town, Raikot still lacks railway connectivity, causing inconvenience to residents, traders, students, and daily commuters.

According to the MP, he has been continuously pursuing the project with the Central Government and the Ministry of Railways since 2019. He added that the matter has also been raised in Parliament on multiple occasions, and the proposed rail line would significantly improve connectivity and economic development in the region.

Dr. Amar Singh also highlighted the delay in the construction of the railway overbridge (ROB) at Doraha. He informed the Railway Minister that although the project received approval more than two years ago, the work has not progressed at the expected pace. He urged the ministry to expedite the project so that traffic congestion and safety concerns in the area can be addressed.

Railway Minister assured that the issues raised would be examined and that the ministry would look into the proposals related to rail connectivity and infrastructure development in the region.
