Gold and silver prices continued their downward trend for the third consecutive trading session on October 22. According to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), the price of 24-carat gold fell by ₹953 per 10 grams to ₹1.43 lakh.

Silver prices also witnessed a sharp decline, with the price of one kilogram falling by ₹8,002 to ₹2.01 lakh.

Over the past three trading sessions, gold has become cheaper by around ₹3,200, while silver prices have declined by approximately ₹10,000.

According to commodity expert Ajay Kedia, the strengthening of the Indian rupee against the US dollar and a rise in crude oil prices are the key factors behind the recent fall in gold and silver prices.
