Gold prices across most Indian cities saw a temporary pause in their recent rally on Saturday, May 9, with rates softening slightly in several major markets. According to the latest market trends, prices in Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata edged lower during morning trade, while Chennai bucked the trend with an increase in gold rates.

In the national capital Delhi, 24-carat gold was priced at ₹1,52,870 per 10 grams. In Mumbai, the price of 24-carat gold stood at ₹1,52,670 per 10 grams.

The bullion market had already shown signs of correction on Friday, when gold prices in Delhi’s sarafa market dropped by ₹100 to settle at ₹1,55,900 per 10 grams.

Meanwhile, silver prices continued their strong upward momentum. On the morning of May 9, silver rates surged to ₹2,75,100 per kilogram in the domestic market. In the international market, spot silver was trading at $81.14 per ounce, reflecting sustained global demand and investor interest in precious metals.
