A government bus travelling from Jablu to Ghumarwin collided with a private bus on the Bhaged-Panoul road in Himachal Pradesh’s Bilaspur district on Thursday. Following the impact, the government bus went off the road and was left hanging dangerously over the slope, triggering panic among passengers.
Several passengers travelling in both buses reportedly sustained minor injuries. A major tragedy was averted as passengers escaped with their lives. Local residents rushed to the spot after learning about the accident and helped rescue passengers from the buses.
Traffic on the road was disrupted for some time following the collision. Police personnel were deployed at the scene and took steps to control the situation and facilitate the movement of traffic.
The exact cause of the accident has not yet been ascertained. Police are investigating the incident to determine how the collision occurred.
The accident has once again raised concerns over road safety and traffic management on the hilly roads of Himachal Pradesh.
