Punjab Government has announced a gazetted public holiday across the state on Friday, July 31, 2026, to commemorate the martyrdom day of Shaheed Udham Singh.
According to the Punjab Government Holiday Calendar 2026, all government offices, boards, corporations, and government educational institutions will remain closed on the occasion.
The decision has been taken to pay tribute to the extraordinary sacrifice and patriotism of Shaheed Udham Singh, one of India's most revered freedom fighters, whose contribution to the country's independence continues to inspire generations.
