Govt. considering shifting of HPTDC Office to Dharamshala: CM

Rs. 250 crore to be provided for renovating HPTDC properties: Sukhu

CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said here today that the State Government was exploring the possibilities of shifting HPTDC office from Shimla to Dharamshala. While reviewing the working of HPTDC, he said that Kangra district is being declared as the Tourism Capital of the State and this measure would go a long way in harnessing the tourism potential in the district.

He said that due to the State Government's initiatives and dedicated efforts of the staff of Corporation, the organization achieved its highest Rs. 105 crore turnover during the financial year 2023-24.
The Chief Minister said that the State Government was making every possible measure to make the HPTDC a profitable and viable organization. He assured that the state government would provide Rs. 250 crore for the renovation and restoration of 11 prime properties of the HPTDC and the work would be conducted in a phased manner.
Sukhu directed the officers to collaborate with leading online travel platforms such as MakeMyTrip, Cleartrip etc. for the booking of HPTDC hotel rooms.
