Encouraged with the successful execution of export orders of Basmati rice of 132 million USD to Saudi Arabia and UAE. HAFED has now initiated efforts to explore export possibilities in Rwanda and Tanzania.
A high-level delegation comprising of Chairman, Hafed Kailash Bhagat, MD, Hafed, Dr. J Ganesan, Advisor, Foreign Cooperation Department Haryana Pawan Choudhary and Chief General Manager, HAFED, Rajnish Sharma visited Rwanda and held a meeting with the Director General of Armed Forces Shops and his team of senior officers at Kigali on 12 July 2024 for business tie-ups and export of various agri commodities. After detailed discussions, it was agreed upon in principle to finalise a long-term contract with HAFED for a regular supply of rice to Armed Forces Shops, Rwanda and to also explore the possibility of Refined sunflower oil, Cold pressed mustard oil and millet-based products.
MD, Hafed assured for regular and consistent supplies of good quality products to Armed Forces shops. The delegation also held talks with officers of the High Commission of India at Rwanda to explore business opportunities in Rwanda.
