Punjab Finance Minister and Cabinet Sub-Committee Chairman Harpal Singh Cheema on Monday held meetings with representatives of various employee unions to discuss their concerns and demands.
Cheema gave a patient hearing to the issues raised by the unions and directed the heads of concerned departments to resolve legitimate matters without delay. He also instructed that demands requiring intervention from the Finance or Personnel Departments be expedited.
“Bhagwant Mann government remains steadfast in its resolve to address employees’ genuine demands in a fair and transparent manner,” Cheema said.
He added that the Cabinet Sub-Committee would continue engaging with employee unions to ensure their legitimate concerns are addressed promptly and to strengthen trust between the government and its workforce.
Representatives from several unions, including the PSEB Engineers’ Association, Powercom and Transco Theka Mulazam Union, General Categories Welfare Federation PSEB, Sarkari ITIs Theka Mulajam Union, Rural Health Pharmacist Union, Rural Health Pharmacy Officer Association and Punjab Police Waiting List 2016 Union, attended the meetings. Their demands were noted for necessary action.
