Haryana and Israel have presented a joint vision for agricultural innovation in the field of horticulture. A key meeting took place between Haryana Agriculture Minister, Shyam Singh Rana and Agriculture and Food Security Minister, Israel,. Avi Dichter, at the Indo-Israel Centre of Excellence for Vegetables in Gharaunda (Karnal). This meeting was held a day after both countries signed an agreement and action plan on agricultural cooperation in New Delhi.
During the meeting, Avi Dichter emphasized the need for water recycling in view of the issue of water pollution in Haryana. He said that everyone must use polluted water for irrigation. He advised Haryana to explore possibilities in this direction. Dichter also invited Haryana Agriculture Minister, Sh. Shyam Singh Rana, to visit Israel to closely observe the advanced technologies being used in irrigation, seed production, and climate-controlled farming.
