Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Monday visited the site of the devastating fire incident in Rohtak’s D-Park area and met affected shopkeepers to assess the damage and gather details about the tragedy.

The Chief Minister also met the families of Kapil, Saurabh, and Aman, who lost their lives in the fire, and expressed his heartfelt condolences.

Assuring them of all possible government assistance, Saini described the incident as deeply tragic and painful, stating that the state government stands firmly with the affected families and traders during this difficult time.

He directed officials to ensure that relief and rehabilitation efforts are carried out without any delay.

Announcing financial assistance from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, Saini said that owners of fully destroyed shops will receive ₹5 lakh each, while those whose shops suffered partial damage will be provided ₹2 lakh each. Additionally, street vendors whose carts were destroyed in the blaze will receive ₹50,000 each as compensation.

The massive fire had broken out near D-Park in Model Town on June 9, reducing around a dozen shops to ashes. Three people were burnt alive in the incident, while property worth lakhs of rupees was destroyed.

Following the tragedy, trader associations had been demanding adequate compensation and relief for the victims. The Chief Minister’s visit and the announcement of financial aid have raised hopes of relief among the affected families and business owners.
