Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has announced a major decision in the interest of school and college students across the state. The Chief Minister said that students will now get the benefit of free travel in the state’s electric buses as well, on the lines of Haryana Roadways buses.
CM Saini clarified that students will not have to follow any new process to avail the facility. The existing ‘Haryana Roadways Student Bus Pass’ will remain fully valid in the newly introduced electric buses. The move is expected to provide major relief to thousands of students who rely on public transport for their daily commute, while also promoting environment-friendly transportation.
The announcement was made after Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini inaugurated the E-Depot and flagged off the electric buses. Later, he addressed a gathering at the AC Auditorium of Arya PG College. The Chief Minister reached Panipat by road for the event.
A total of 40 electric buses have been allotted to Panipat, while e-buses from Panchkula, Jagadhri, Sonipat, and Kurukshetra districts were also included in the rollout.
Addressing the gathering, CM Saini said electric buses are the need of the hour and stressed the importance of reducing dependence on oil and other conventional fuels.
The Chief Minister also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working towards strengthening the country, and citizens should support such initiatives for a better future.
