Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday said the state is making steady progress in the civil aviation sector and scaling new heights on India's aviation map. He made the remarks while inaugurating a newly constructed hangar, Air Traffic Control (ATC) building, security post and canteen at Chaudhary Bansi Lal Civil Aerodrome in Bhiwani, developed at a cost of ₹31 crore.
The Chief Minister said the new hangar and ATC building will ensure the safe operation of helicopters and aircraft from the aerodrome while also making aircraft maintenance and servicing more efficient.
Speaking after the inauguration, Saini congratulated the 120 pilots who have successfully completed their training at Chaudhary Bansi Lal Aerodrome and wished them success in their future careers.
Highlighting Haryana's growing aviation network, the Chief Minister said the state is moving rapidly in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of strengthening regional air connectivity. He noted that direct flight services from Hisar Airport to Chandigarh, Jaipur and Ayodhya have already been launched, and the network will soon be expanded to include Jammu, Ahmedabad and Delhi.
Saini also said that work on the passenger terminal and cargo terminal at Hisar Airport is progressing at a fast pace and the airport is expected to be fully developed by 2027.
He added that flight training activities at the Bhiwani aerodrome will gain further momentum in the coming years, producing more skilled pilots and strengthening Haryana’s contribution to India’s aviation sector.
The Chief Minister further announced that Hisar will be developed as a Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) hub, aimed at reducing dependence on foreign facilities for aircraft maintenance. The proposed MRO centre will provide comprehensive maintenance, repair and overhaul services, helping keep aircraft flight-ready while boosting the state's aviation infrastructure.
