CS to be chairperson of committee

The Haryana Government has constituted a high-level committee to examine the adoption of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Amendment Act, 2024 in the State.
The committee has been constituted by the Environment, Forest and Wildlife Department in compliance with directions issued by the Government of India and as per the provisions of the said Amendment Act. Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi will be chairperson of the committee.
The committee members include the Additional Chief Secretary, Environment, Forest & Wildlife Department; Chairman, Haryana State Pollution Control Board; Additional Chief Secretary, Town & Country Planning and Urban Estates Department; Additional Chief Secretary, Urban Local Bodies Department; Additional Chief Secretary, Irrigation & Water Resources Department; Commissioner & Secretary, Industries & Commerce Department; Director, Environment, Haryana and Special Secretary, Environment, Forest & Wildlife Department; and the Deputy District Attorney, Haryana State Pollution Control Board. The Chief Environmental Engineer, Haryana State Pollution Control Board, Sh. Bhupinder Rinwa will serve as the Convener of the committee.
The committee will examine all aspects related to the adoption of the Amendment Act and submit its recommendations to the State Government.
