Haryana Police Telecommunication Wing will recruit 400 Special Police Officers (SPOs), with applications invited from ex-servicemen of the Armed Forces and Central Armed Police Forces, as well as former constables of the Haryana State Industrial Security Force and Haryana Armed Police battalions.
The selected SPOs will not be posted at their home police station. However, their home district will be given preference at the time of posting, subject to availability of vacancies. In emergency situations, they may be deployed temporarily anywhere in Haryana.
The appointment will initially be for one year or until regular appointments are made, whichever is earlier. Candidates with prior experience in operating telecommunication equipment will be preferred, particularly those who have served in the Signals Corps of the Armed Forces.
Selected candidates will also undergo a 15-day capsule course to familiarise them with the requirements and functioning of the police department.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have passed Class 10+2 from a recognised board. Their age should be not less than 25 years and not more than 50 years as on the date of the advertisement. Candidates must also have completed at least five years of service in the Armed Forces.
Those who were removed or dismissed from service on grounds of indiscipline, misconduct or medical unfitness will not be eligible to apply.
No Written or Physical Test
There will be no written examination or physical test for the recruitment of SPOs. However, selected candidates will have to undergo a medical examination before appointment letters are issued.
Their character and antecedents will also be verified by the concerned district police authorities. Educational qualifications, age, category and other certificates submitted by applicants will be verified with the respective issuing authorities.
Services Can Be Terminated Without Prior Notice
The services of an SPO may be terminated at any time in cases of indiscipline, misconduct, unsatisfactory performance or if the requirement for the post ceases before completion of one year.
Such termination can be ordered by the Superintendent of Police, Telecommunication, and prior notice will not necessarily be required.
