CHANDIGARH: Chandigarh Police today regostered FIR against Haryana Sports Minister Sandeep Singh under charges of sexual assault on the basis of complaint made by a junior coach in Haryana Sports Department.
The victim coach had on December 30, 2022 submitted her complaint to Chandigarh Police and also met the SSP. The complaint was marked to SHO Sector 26 Chandigarh for investigation.
Sandeep Singh BJP leader and minister in Khattar Government on the other hand denied the allegations and claimed it was a conspiracy against him. He had also made a complaint to Haryana Police alleging conspiracy to defame him. The Haryana DGP P.K.Agarwwal has formed a three member committee under the command of ADGP Rohtak Mamta Singh to probe the minister's allegations. DCP Panchkula Sumer Partap Singh and ACP Panchkula Raj Kumar Kaushik are other members of committee.
The coach claimed that Sandeep Singh who is MLA from Pehowa she was called by the minister at his residence where he did sexual misconduct with her. "The minister took me to side cabin of his office, he placed his hand on my foot". He said he liked her from first day when he saw her. He also asked the coach to keep him happy, he will keep her happy.
Sandeep Singh said that an independent probe is needed into the allegations because his image is being tarnished.
