A shocking incident has surfaced in Punjab's Patiala district after the headless body of an approximately eight-year-old child was recovered from the Bhakra Canal near Kakrala village on the Samana-Patiala Road, triggering panic across the region.
According to officials, local residents spotted the body floating in the canal and immediately informed the police. A police team, along with administrative officials, reached the spot and retrieved the body from the water.
Preliminary investigation revealed disturbing details, with the child's legs reportedly tied and multiple sharp weapon injury marks found on the abdomen. The head of the child was missing, making the case even more gruesome.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been established. Police are checking missing person reports from nearby districts and police stations in an effort to identify the victim. Forensic teams have also been deployed to collect evidence and search for vital clues from the surrounding area.
