Himachal Pradesh government has announced that all government schools across the state will remain open on August 15 to celebrate India’s Independence Day. The Directorate of School Education has issued detailed instructions to all District Deputy Directors (Primary and Higher Education) and principals of Government Senior Secondary School (GSSS) complexes.
According to the official orders, Independence Day will be celebrated in all government schools with enthusiasm, dignity, and a spirit of patriotism. District Deputy Directors have been directed to circulate the necessary instructions to every government school under their jurisdiction.
Directorate has clarified that schools will function normally on August 15 and special activities related to the national celebration will be conducted on campus.
The order also states that students and schools must participate in Independence Day functions organized at tehsil, sub-divisional, and district headquarters to ensure wider community involvement in the celebrations.
Officials have been instructed to ensure strict compliance with these directions. Copies of the order have also been sent to the Secretary, Education Department, Government of Himachal Pradesh, and other concerned officials of the School Education Directorate for necessary action.
