In Himachal Pradesh, snowfall occurred after 6 AM this morning at popular tourist destinations such as Narkanda and Kufri in Shimla district, as well as in the high mountains of Lahaul-Spiti. Prior to this, the entire state experienced heavy rainfall throughout the night, accompanied by storms in several areas. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert today for hailstorms and strong winds in five districts.

Following the rain and snowfall, the mountains have seen a return of winter-like cold, reminiscent of December-January. Residents have been forced to bring out their warm winter clothing. The minimum temperature in several cities of the state has dropped close to the freezing point. In the past 24 hours, the state's average maximum temperature has fallen 5°C below normal, and it is expected to drop further after the snowfall.

Una recorded the most significant drop, with the maximum temperature falling 9.2°C below normal to 23.6°C. Solan’s maximum temperature decreased by 9.1°C to 23.6°C, Kangra by 6.1°C to 26°C, and Sundernagar by 5.6°C to 23.3°C.
