The HP Police has undertaken several initiatives to enhance the capacity and skills of its investigation teams, particularly in road safety enforcement. Under the prescribed training program designed by the (BPR&D, New Delhi, a specialized three-day training on road safety for field investigation officers in HP was organized by the TTR unit, Shimla.
This training program, directed by DGP Himachal Pradesh, Dr. Atul Verma, IPS, ran from November 5th to 7th, 2024.
The concluding session of this training program was presided over by AIG TTR, Vinod Kumar, HPS, with the course coordination managed by Additional SP TTR, Narvir Singh Rathour. The course focused on modern techniques for investigating road traffic accident cases and employing advanced equipment for traffic law enforcement, including Alco sensors, Doppler radar, and laser speed meters.
Participants received in-depth training on several crucial topics from expert speakers and trainers. Ankush Thakur, State Roll-Out Manager for iRAD at NIC Shimla, presented on the implementation of the iRAD application, facilitating improved digital reporting of accident cases. A total of 35 investigating officers from across HP, primarily from district traffic wings, participated in the training.
