India has taken a significant step in the badminton world by announcing a strong and well-balanced squad for the Thomas & Uber Cup Finals 2026. Selected by the Badminton Association of India, the teams reflect a perfect mix of experience and young energy, boosting India’s chances in the prestigious tournament.
The men’s team will be led in singles by star shuttler Lakshya Sen, who will spearhead India’s campaign. In doubles, the world-renowned duo of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty will once again carry the nation’s hopes. The squad also features experienced players like Kidambi Srikanth and H. S. Prannoy, while young talent Ayush Shetty has earned his maiden call-up.
In the women’s team, two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu will lead India’s challenge. She will be supported by rising stars like Unnati Hooda, Tanvi Sharma, and Devika Sihag, bringing fresh energy to the squad. The doubles pair of Gayatri Gopichand Pullela and Treesa Jolly will play a crucial role in India’s campaign.
The prestigious tournament is set to take place from April 24 to May 3 in Horsens, Denmark, where India will aim to script history once again. Having won the historic Thomas Cup title in 2022, the men’s team will look to recreate that success.
In the group stage, India’s men’s team will face tough opponents like China, Canada, and Australia, while the women’s team is also set for a challenging path.
