A tragic road accident in Haryana's Panchkula claimed the life of a young woman and left seven others, including the driver, injured after an Innova vehicle carrying factory workers plunged into a gorge on Tuesday morning.
The victims were travelling to Skin Kanti Soap Company in the Parwanoo area of Himachal Pradesh when the accident occurred near Naulta village in Pinjore. The company had arranged the Innova to transport women workers from two to three villages in Panchkula to the factory.
According to local reports, the vehicle fell nearly 20 feet into the gorge before getting stuck in a cluster of bamboo trees, preventing an even more devastating crash.
The injured have been identified as Mamta, Sunita, Sushma, Parvati, Bhawna, another Sunita, and driver Ahmed. All sustained injuries and were rushed for medical treatment.
The deceased, Usha, a resident of Mandhna Thathar village, had joined the company only a month ago. She had been staying at her sister's in-laws' home in Kedarpur to commute to work more easily.
Family members said Usha was seated in the rear of the vehicle. When the Innova fell into the gorge, the back seats collapsed forward, causing a severe head injury that proved fatal.
