Vineet Dhir, the newly elected AAP Mayor of Jalandhar, addressed the media today in a press conference
held at the Municipal Corporation headquarters. Accompanied by Senior Deputy Mayor Balbir Singh Bittu,
Deputy Mayor Malkeet Singh, and municipal councillors, Dhir expressed gratitude to his team, the residents of
Jalandhar, and the leadership of the AAP for entrusting him with the responsibility of leading the city.
At the outset, Mayor thanked the party's national convener, Arvind Kejriwal, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann, AAP President Aman Arora, and other senior leaders including Dr Sandeep Pathak for their guidance and unwavering support. Highlighting his administration’s priority, Dhir said, “We are committed to a zero-tolerance policy against
corruption. Every penny allocated for Jalandhar’s development will be spent transparently and effectively for
the betterment of the city.” He assured the public that strict measures would be taken to eliminate corruption
from all levels of governance.
Dhir outlined his vision for transforming Jalandhar into a developed and sustainable city. Key
focus areas include improved civic amenities: Resolving issues like sewage overflow, water shortages, and
poor street lighting.
