Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal has announced that the “Ek Shaam Shiv Ke Naam” program will be organised across 22 cities in Punjab, featuring devotional celebrations dedicated to Lord Shiva along with cultural performances.
He made the announcement in the presence of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann while attending a state-level religious gathering titled “Ek Shaam Bhagwan Shiv Ji Ke Naam” held at Pytex Ground in Ranjit Avenue, Amritsar.
Devotional events and cultural performances
The upcoming events will include Shiva bhajans and cultural programs, with popular devotional singer Hans Raj Raghuwanshi set to be the main attraction. Large crowds from Punjab as well as neighbouring states are expected to attend the gatherings to witness the devotional performances.
Major announcements on temple development
The government also announced major development plans for the Ram Tirath Temple complex in Amritsar. The project includes the construction of grand temples dedicated to Lord Ram, Luv-Kush, and Goddess Sita, aiming to enhance the historical and religious significance of the site.
₹80 crore project for Kali Mata Temple
In Patiala, around ₹80 crore has been allocated for the expansion and development of the Kali Mata Temple. The government stated that the initiative will promote religious tourism and improve facilities for devotees.
Expansion of pilgrimage scheme
Under the state’s pilgrimage travel scheme, two routes are already operational—covering the Golden Temple and Sri Anandpur Sahib. The government has now announced three additional routes, including Khatu Shyam Temple, Haridwar, Rishikesh, and Mathura-Vrindavan. A third new route is expected to begin in August.
