Punjab Newsline, Chandigarh, October 22-

With an aim to reverse the trend of brain drain in the state, Punjab cabinet Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian has urged school teachers to play pivotal role in convincing students to stay in the state after completing their secondary education.

“Punjab has everything to offer its youth,” he said, while encouraging students to explore opportunities within the state, citing over 46,000 government jobs provided to youth in last two and half years.

The Agriculture Minister was participating at the 3rd Mega Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) organised at S. Baldev Singh Government Senior Secondary School at Majatri in SAS Nagar on Tuesday.

The Agriculture Minister further stated that the Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, has been making all out efforts to further upgrade the education system in the state. For the first time, the government has sent over 500 teachers to Singapore and Finland, and even to prestigious IIMs to upgrade their skills for delivering quality education to the students.
