Domestic LPG consumers in Amritsar have been given an extended deadline of August 23, 2026, to complete their mandatory e-KYC process. The move aims to verify genuine consumers, identify fake and inactive LPG connections and bring greater transparency to the LPG distribution system.
Of the nearly 3.5 lakh LPG connections in the district, around 85 per cent consumers have already completed e-KYC, while approximately 15 per cent are yet to complete the process.
Officials and LPG distributors said some of the pending cases involve consumers who have died, are living abroad, or are elderly or differently abled and may be unable to complete biometric verification themselves. In such cases, eligible family members can approach the distributor to get the connection transferred in their name.
The extended deadline gives remaining consumers additional time to complete the verification. Consumers who fail to complete e-KYC by August 23 could face a halt in LPG cylinder bookings. Oil companies are also sending reminder messages to consumers whose e-KYC remains pending.
Consumers can complete e-KYC through three modes — the official mobile app, LPG delivery personnel or their authorised distributor.
How to Complete e-KYC
Indane LPG: Consumers can use the IndianOil ONE app, available on both Android and iOS. After signing up with their registered mobile number or email address, they need to link their 16-digit LPG ID, available on the cash memo or subscription voucher. They can then go to My Profile > LPG Details/Indane Details > Re-KYC and follow the instructions for face scanning and Aadhaar biometric verification.
If Aadhaar biometrics are locked, consumers must unlock them through the mAadhaar app before completing the verification.
For assistance, consumers can contact the Oil Industry helpline at 1800-233-3555 (toll-free).
Bharatgas: Consumers can open the HelloBPCL app, access LPG services linked to their Bharatgas connection and complete the available KYC/Aadhaar authentication process.
HP Gas: Consumers can use the HP Pay app or HP Gas online services, log in and select the relevant KYC/Aadhaar authentication option to complete verification.
Consumers Advised to Remain Alert
Consumers have been advised not to share Aadhaar details or OTPs with unknown callers. If the e-KYC option is not available on an app, they can complete the verification through their authorised LPG delivery employee or distributor.
LPG Federation Amritsar president Anuj Sikka appealed to all domestic LPG consumers to complete e-KYC before the August 23 deadline. He said around 85 per cent of the district's 3.5 lakh consumers had already completed the process and expressed hope that the remaining consumers would complete it within the extended period.
Consumers can also visit their nearest LPG distributor with their Aadhaar card and consumer number for biometric verification.
Check Your Mobile Inbox for Reminder
Consumers who are unsure whether their e-KYC has been completed have been advised to check their mobile inbox for messages from oil companies. Reminder messages are being sent to consumers with pending verification.
