Amid the festive season, Ludhiana residents are set to face another price hike, with milk becoming costlier by up to ₹3 per kilogram from November 1. Dairy owners from the Haibowal and Tajpur Dairy Complexes have decided to increase milk prices, adding to the financial burden on consumers.

Haibowal Dairy president Kuldeep Singh Lahoria and other dairy representatives shared the decision, stating that milk prices would be increased by ₹3 per kilogram at all milk-selling booths across the city.

In addition, the fat rate for cream dairy operators has been increased by 30 paise. Dairy owners have been urged to take responsibility and implement the revised rates across their respective outlets from the scheduled date.

Dairy operators have attributed the price increase primarily to a sharp rise in the cost of cattle feed. According to them, the prices of toori (dry fodder), animal feed and green fodder have increased significantly in recent months.

They said the rising cost of essential supplies has made it increasingly difficult for dairy owners to manage their expenses and sustain their businesses. The latest revision, they indicated, is intended to offset the growing operational costs faced by dairy operators.

The increase, effective November 1, is expected to affect households across Ludhiana that rely on daily milk supplies, particularly during the ongoing festive season.
