Chandigarh September 2- Senior Shiromani Akali Dal leader and former cabinet minister S Bikram Singh Majithia today made a sensational disclosure, producing undeniable evidence to prove that the orders to dissolve Panchayats and hold fresh elections had been issued on the written official instructions of the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann under his own signatures.” It is a case not of technically flawed orders but of brazen lies of the head of government in Punjab who openly denies his own signed instructions. This is truly unbelievable, disgraceful and shocking”

The former cabinet minister also blasted the Chief minister and his government for “imposing an Internal Emergency in Punjab by invoking ESMA against Punjabi employees and functionaries. “This is unheard of in the state , except in the worst days following Indira Gandhi’s horrendous Emergency and her sacrilegious armed assault on Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib and Sri Akal Takhat Sahib in 1984. “

Mr Majithia was addressing media persons at a specially convened press conference

On the Panchayat poll controversy, the firebrand Akali leader stunned pressmen by producing facsimile copies of the on-file orders signed by Bhagwant Mann as Chief Minister to dissolve the Panchayats and order fresh elections. These documents clearly showed that not only the instructions to the concerned senior officers but even the original intent and “desire” of the Chief Minister on Panchayats dissolution and re-poll were officially recorded and signed by Bhagwant Mann himself. “Now, Bhagwant Mann passes the buck to IAS officers, in the true absurd theatre style of the AAP circus ringleader, Arvind Kejriwal. These outrageous falsehoods expose Bhagwant Mann as either a compulsive liar or a man with an unsound mind. Either way, it is an extremely worrying prospect for Punjab,” said the Akali leader.

Mr Majithia said that since Bhagwant Mann had suspended two senior IAS officers falsely accusing them of issuing technically flawed orders, it will be watched with interest what action does he propose to take against himself for the double fraud of first issuing wrong instructions under his own signatures and then denying these not only before the people but also in a court of law.

Mr Majithia said that the issue was not a case of technical flaws. It is a case of a CM caught lying brazenly about his own orders, duly recorded and signed by him. These audacious broad daylight lies have shocked the entire Punjab and brought a bad name to Punjabis in the country and beyond.,” said the Akali leader. EOM
