A major theft was reported early Wednesday morning at Quality Sweet Shop, located in the Income Tax Colony area of Jalandhar city. According to the shop owner, unidentified burglars broke the shop locks at around 4 a.m. and entered the premises, escaping with cash worth several lakhs of rupees within just six minutes.
In a surprising turn, the thieves allegedly took away not only the cash but also passports, Aadhaar cards, and other important documents kept inside the shop. The owner further claimed that the accused returned to the shop after the initial theft and fled with food items and other goods stored there.
The entire incident is believed to have been captured by nearby CCTV cameras, and police are examining the footage to identify the culprits.
As soon as the information was received, police teams reached the spot, took possession of CCTV recordings from the surrounding area, and launched an investigation. The well-planned burglary has created panic among local traders and shopkeepers in the area.
Police officials said that all aspects of the case are being thoroughly investigated and assured that efforts are underway to identify and arrest the accused at the earliest possible time.
