A tragic road accident in Himachal Pradesh’s Chamba district claimed the lives of six tourists from Gujarat after their tempo traveller crashed amid heavy rain and strong storm conditions early Monday morning. Four other passengers sustained serious injuries in the accident.
The mishap took place around 3 am near Kakira in the Bhattiyat area of Chamba district. According to officials, the vehicle lost control during severe weather conditions and met with a major accident.
Local residents and rescue teams rushed to the spot soon after the incident. The injured tourists were taken to a nearby health centre for treatment. Three of the injured were later referred to Tanda Medical College for advanced medical care after receiving primary treatment.
Police reached the accident site immediately after receiving information and began an investigation into the cause of the crash. Chamba SP Vijay Saklani confirmed the incident.
