An unidentified man was found dead in a blood-soaked condition in the fields of Jaidhhar village in Yamunanagar on Tuesday morning, triggering panic in the area. The deceased, estimated to be around 50–55 years old, had deep injury marks on his head and face.
The incident came to light when Mohit, a resident of Jaidhhar village, went for his morning walk towards the fields. He spotted the man lying motionless and immediately informed local residents and called Dial 112.
Following the information, a team from Chhachhrauli police station reached the spot and inspected the crime scene. The man's face was covered in blood, and visible injuries were found on his head and face.
During the investigation, police recovered ₹50,000 from the pocket of the deceased's pyjama. His pyjama was reportedly found open, although the circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear.
Given the injuries, police are investigating the possibility of murder along with other angles. Preliminary investigation suggests that the man may have died in the fields late at night.
Police have taken the body into custody and shifted it to the mortuary for post-mortem examination. The exact cause of death is expected to become clear after the post-mortem report.
Efforts are underway to establish the identity of the deceased. Information has also been circulated in nearby villages to help identify him and trace his family members.
Chhachhrauli SHO Vedpal said police were making efforts to identify the deceased. He added that the body had been kept at the post-mortem house and further investigation was underway.
