Punjab Advocate General Maninderjit Singh Bedi has been appointed Chairman of the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana by the Bar Council of India (BCI).

Bedi, who is currently serving as the Advocate General of Punjab, is a distinguished legal professional with extensive experience at the Bar. The Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana is the apex statutory body responsible for regulating the legal profession and legal education in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh.

His appointment is being viewed as a significant move towards strengthening the legal fraternity and improving the functioning of the Bar in the region.

Expressing gratitude to the legal fraternity for placing its trust in him, Bedi said he would work towards the welfare of advocates, maintaining high standards of professional ethics, and improving legal education and infrastructure.

Members of the legal fraternity in Punjab and Haryana have welcomed his appointment as Chairman of the Bar Council.
