A major fire broke out on Thursday at the Deflo Club located in Sector-26 of Chandigarh, triggering panic among people dining inside the premises. The incident led to chaos-like scenes as customers and staff rushed to escape the building after flames rapidly spread across the club.

According to officials, the fire started on the first floor of the club. Initially, a few fire brigade vehicles reached the spot and began firefighting operations, but the blaze intensified quickly, forcing authorities to deploy additional teams. Nearly 12 fire tenders were pressed into service to bring the situation under control.

Fire brigade personnel and police teams carried out a rescue operation and safely evacuated all customers and staff members from the building. No injuries or casualties have been reported so far.

As the fire spread further, the administration sealed the surrounding area as a precautionary measure to prevent any loss of life or property. Police also stopped public movement around the club and cleared the nearby area to ensure safety during the operation.

Officials said the exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined. Fire department teams continued efforts to fully control the blaze. Fire officer Multani, who reached the spot, said an investigation has been launched into the incident. He added that most of the material and property inside the club was gutted in the fire.
