A massive fire broke out at a furniture showroom’s warehouse in Bhiwani’s New Bazaar area, between Hansi Gate and Phoolon Wala Chowk, late Tuesday night. The fire, which reportedly started around 2 am, quickly spread and reduced furniture, plywood, timber and other stored materials to ashes.
The incident triggered panic in the surrounding area as flames engulfed the warehouse. Fire brigade teams rushed to the spot after receiving information and launched an extensive firefighting operation. However, the narrow lane and limited access to the site posed significant challenges for the fire personnel.
Around 12 to 13 fire tenders were deployed to control the blaze. After nearly six hours of strenuous efforts, the firefighters finally brought the fire under control. Preliminary estimates suggest that property worth lakhs of rupees was destroyed, although the exact extent of the damage is yet to be assessed.
According to showroom owner Rohit, neighbours called him at around 1:45 am and informed him about the fire at the warehouse. He immediately contacted the emergency helpline 112 and alerted the fire department. The first fire tender reached the spot within minutes, following which additional vehicles were called in as the intensity of the blaze increased.
The warehouse contained large quantities of timber, plywood and other highly combustible materials used in furniture manufacturing. These materials are believed to have contributed to the rapid spread of the fire, which eventually engulfed the entire building.
By the time the blaze was extinguished, most of the goods stored inside the warehouse had been destroyed, while the building also sustained significant damage. Since the warehouse was packed with materials, assessing the exact financial loss remains difficult at this stage.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined. The circumstances surrounding the incident and the total financial loss will become clearer after the relevant authorities complete their investigation.
Fortunately, no casualties have been reported in the incident.
