Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal emphasized the significance of the teachings of Lord Shri Krishna at the Gita Sthali Jyotisar, where these teachings were imparted thousands of years ago. He said that the Gita continues to be a beacon of peace, spreading its message across the nation. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that those who embrace these teachings will progress in their life.
During the International Gita Mahotsav 2023, the Chief Minister Manohar Lal visited Gita Sthali Jyotisar to offer prayers to the holy book. Alongside Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, MLA Subhash Sudha, and Political Advisor to Chief Minister, Bharat Bhushan Bharti and other dignitaries, the Chief Minister inaugurated the Jyotisar Anubhav Kendra, a government initiative costing approximately Rs. 206 crore. The Chief Minister of Assam was briefed on the project by the Haryana Chief Minister.
Following the inauguration, both Chief Ministers offered Purnahuti into the Yagya on Gita Jayanti and conducted poojan, invoking divine blessings for global peace. They also paid their respects to the holy book Gita and visited the banyan tree under which Lord Krishna delivered his teachings to Arjuna. A souvenir photo capturing the presence of Lord Shri Krishna was taken with all the dignitaries. The Chief Minister provided essential guidance to officers for the enhancement and spiritual improvement of the pilgrimage site.
Sharing his thoughts, Chief Minister emphasized the sanctifying nature of the holy land, where the sins of a visitor are believed to be absolved, leading to spiritual elevation. He highlighted the comprehensive project undertaken by the state government, funded by the Ministry of Tourism under the Sri Krishna Circuit through the Swadesh Darshan Scheme, with a budget of Rs 8054.70 lakh. The funds were allocated for the beautification of Brahma Sarovar, Jyotisar, Narakatari, Sannihat Sarovar, and the city.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister said that an additional budget of Rs 205.58 crore was allocated for the Mahabharata-themed building, artistic exhibition, and multimedia project at Jyotisar. Notably, approximately Rs 65 crore has been expended on the construction of two galleries.
Present on the occasion include Member Secretary Kurukshetra Development Board, Vikas Gupta, Deputy Commissioner, Shantanu Sharma, Superintendent of Police Surinder Singh Bhoria, and other dignitaries.
