MG Motor India has launched two new special editions of its popular Hector SUV in the Indian market — the Hector Blackstorm and Hector Snowstorm. Both limited-run models are priced at ₹20 lakh (ex-showroom) and come with distinctive exterior and interior styling.
The Blackstorm edition gets a dark and sporty design theme, while the Snowstorm features a lighter and more premium-looking treatment. Both editions are aimed at buyers looking for a more distinctive version of the Hector compared with the regular variants.
The special editions are available exclusively in a 5-seater configuration and are powered by a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. The engine produces 143 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque and is paired with a CVT automatic gearbox.
This means buyers opting for the Blackstorm or Snowstorm editions will not get a diesel engine or manual gearbox option. The two special editions are positioned around ₹35,000 higher than the top-spec Hector Savvy Pro CVT.
Unlike a conventional model update, MG has not introduced any major mechanical or performance upgrades with these editions. Their key highlights are the new exterior and interior themes and limited-run positioning.
The Blackstorm and Snowstorm are therefore expected to attract customers who want the Hector's existing mechanical package but prefer a more exclusive and premium appearance. Rather than competing with a completely different SUV, these special editions will primarily appeal to buyers comparing them with the regular Hector variants.
