Punjab witnessed a slowdown in monsoon activity on Tuesday, with significant rainfall recorded in only three districts. According to weather data, Chandigarh received the highest rainfall of 58.3 mm, followed by Ludhiana with 38.4 mm and Rupnagar with 12.5 mm.

Most other districts experienced clear weather conditions, with bright sunshine and high humidity levels causing discomfort among residents. In Ludhiana, rainfall between 11:30 am and 1:30 pm was followed by intense sunshine, leading to sultry weather conditions and increased humidity.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rainfall in some districts on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Sangrur received its first spell of heavy rain of the season around 2:30 pm on Tuesday. The rainfall brought much-needed relief from the humid heat and was welcomed by farmers, who described it as beneficial for paddy and other crops.

Although the sky cleared soon after the rain, cool winds kept the weather pleasant. The rainfall also led to a drop in temperatures, with the maximum temperature settling at 36°C and the minimum at 28°C.
