In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the Punjab Government has transferred eight senior IAS officers with immediate effect, reassigning key administrative responsibilities across several departments. The transfer orders were issued by Chief Secretary K.A.P. Sinha as part of an administrative restructuring aimed at strengthening governance.

Among the key changes, 2008-batch IAS officer Neelima has been shifted from the Home Affairs Department and appointed as Secretary, Personnel Department. She has also been given the additional charge of Secretary, Vigilance Department.

2016-batch IAS officer Parminder Pal Singh has been transferred from the Employment Generation and Skill Development Department to serve as the Special Secretary, Home Affairs Department.

The reshuffle also assigns 2014-batch IAS officer Sakshi Sahni the additional responsibility of Nodal Officer for the Anti-Drug Campaign, alongside her existing roles as Special Secretary, Health & Family Welfare and Mission Director of the National Health Mission (NHM). She has been relieved of her responsibilities as Chief Administrator of PUDA.

Key Transfers:

  • Neelima (IAS 2008): New Secretary, Personnel Department; also given additional charge of Secretary, Vigilance Department.

  • Neeru Katyal Gupta (IAS 2016): Named Chief Administrator, PUDA, with additional charge as Director, Town and Country Planning.

  • Nikas Kumar (IAS 2020): Transferred from Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development), Hoshiarpur, to Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Jalandhar.

  • Sonam (IAS 2023): Given additional charge as Additional Commissioner, Taxation-I, Patiala, while continuing her current assignment in the Excise and Taxation Department.

  • Rakesh Kumar Meena (IAS 2023): Shifted from Joint Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Bathinda, to Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development), Hoshiarpur.

  • Sakshi Sawhney (IAS 2014): Assigned additional charge as Nodal Officer for the Anti-Drug Campaign while continuing as Special Secretary, Health & Family Welfare and Mission Director, NHM. Relieved as Chief Administrator, PUDA.

  • Sandeep Rishi (IAS 2015): Transferred from Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Jalandhar, to Chief Administrator, GMADA, SAS Nagar.

  • Parminder Pal Singh (IAS 2016): Appointed Special Secretary, Home Affairs Department.

The state government has directed all transferred officers to assume charge of their new postings without delay. Officers who have not been assigned a fresh posting in the current transfer list have been instructed to report to the Secretary, Personnel Department until further orders.
