Said, Aklia water works to be upgrade

A new water works will be constructed in Chakeria village of Vidhan Sabha constituency Mansa, while the old water works of another village Aklia will be upgraded. This information was given by Water Supply and Sanitation Minister Hardip Singh Mundian in response to a question by Mansa MLA Dr. Vijay Singla during Question Hour in Punjab Vidhan Sabha today.
Mundian, giving detailed information, said that there is a proposal to construct a new water works in Chakeria village of Mansa. Apart from this, the old water works of village Aklia is being upgraded. The tender process for both these works is in progress. This work will start next month and will be completed by July next year.
The Minister further informed that as per the rules of the department, drinking water supply to the remaining villages of Mansa constituency is already being provided at the rate of 70 litres per person per day from the existing waterworks.
