3127 Panches take oath of office in Kapurthala

Punjab cabinet minister Dr. Ravjot Singh urged the newly elected Panchas (Members of the Panchayat) to work diligently for the comprehensive development of villages and the welfare of the public, aiming to provide village facilities comparable to those in cities.
While addressing the newly elected 3127 Panchas at the Additional Yard J.J. Farm in Kapurthala district today, Dr. Singh stated, “The decision by the Punjab government, led by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, to conduct the Panchayat elections without party symbols has established a foundation for unity in our villages.” He noted that as a result of this decision, over 3000 village Panchayats were elected unanimously and will soon receive a grant of Rs. 5 lakh.
He emphasized, “The Panchayat is the fundamental unit of our rich democracy, through which village development can be ensured and minor disputes can be resolved through mutual consent.”
Dr. Singh encouraged the Panchayats to utilize the governmental grants with complete integrity to foster development in every aspect of village life. He particularly urged the women Panchas to focus on promoting higher education for girls.
