National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the notification for the UGC NET December 2026 examination. Eligible candidates aspiring to appear for the December session can register online through the official website, ugcnet.nta.nic.in.

The online application process began on October 8, 2026, and candidates can submit their application forms until October 28. Those who miss the deadline will have an additional opportunity to apply by October 31 by paying the prescribed late fee.

According to the announced schedule, candidates will be allowed to make corrections to their application forms from November 2 to November 4, 2026. Applicants are advised to fill in their details carefully and complete the registration process before the deadline.

UGC NET December 2026: Important Dates

  • Application start date: October 8, 2026

  • Last date to apply: October 28, 2026

  • Last date to apply with late fee: October 31, 2026

  • Application correction window: November 2–4, 2026

  • Examination dates: December 14–19, 2026

UGC NET Exam Scheduled for December 14–19

The NTA will conduct the UGC NET December 2026 examination from December 14 to 19. The admit cards are expected to be released a few days before the examination. Candidates will be able to download their hall tickets from the official NTA UGC NET website once they are made available.

Applicants are advised to regularly check the official website for updates regarding the examination schedule, admit cards and other important announcements.

UGC NET 2026 Application Fee

Candidates must pay the prescribed registration fee while submitting their application forms. The category-wise application fees are as follows:

  • General category: ₹1,150

  • EWS and OBC-NCL categories: ₹600

  • SC, ST and Persons with Disabilities (PwD): ₹325

Candidates should ensure that all required details are entered correctly and that the application fee is paid successfully to complete the registration process.
