India secured another gold medal in boxing as Parveen Hooda defeated Chen Nien-chin of Chinese Taipei 3-2 in the women’s 65kg category.
With the victory, Hooda became the third Indian boxer to win an Asian Games gold medal. She followed in the footsteps of Mary Kom, who won gold in 2014, and Lovlina Borgohain, who won gold in 2026.
However, India’s campaign in the Kayak Cross events ended in the quarter-finals in both the men’s and women’s categories.
In the men’s event, Rathod Singh finished fourth behind competitors from Nepal and Kazakhstan, missing out on a place in the next round.
In the women’s Kayak Cross, Shikha Chauhan also failed to advance from the quarter-finals. She finished third behind Chinese Taipei’s Ting Wu and Kazakhstan’s Yekaterina, ending her run before the semi-finals.
