The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday arrested a patwari red-handed while allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹90,000 in Ganaur, Sonipat. The accused has been identified as Sachin, a resident of Umedgarh village, who was posted as a patwari in Ganaur.

According to ACB Inspector Jagjit Singh, the patwari allegedly demanded ₹2 lakh from a representative of a company for entering details of the company’s bank loan in the revenue records. Following negotiations between the complainant and the accused, the bribe amount was reportedly settled at ₹1 lakh.

The company representative subsequently approached the Bhiwani ACB and lodged a complaint. Acting on the complaint, the ACB team planned a trap to catch the accused.

As part of the operation, the complainant reached the Ganaur tehsil office with the bribe money. When he handed over ₹90,000 to Sachin, the ACB team immediately intervened and caught him red-handed.

The accused patwari was arrested from the Ganaur tehsil premises, and the alleged bribe amount of ₹90,000 was recovered from his possession.

The accused was later taken to Ganaur police station, where further legal proceedings are underway. He is expected to be produced before a court as part of the investigation.
