Panic gripped passengers at Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport when a power bank belonging to a passenger suddenly exploded onboard an IndiGo flight shortly after landing on Tuesday.

The incident occurred on flight 6E-108, which had arrived from Hyderabad to Chandigarh. According to eyewitnesses, the explosion triggered thick smoke inside the aircraft, leading to chaos and panic among passengers.
Emergency procedures were immediately initiated, and passengers were evacuated through emergency exits. However, there were initial difficulties in opening the emergency doors, causing brief delays during the evacuation process.
At least five passengers sustained injuries in the incident and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Cabin crew members, including air hostesses, acted swiftly and managed to control the fire using onboard firefighting equipment after considerable effort.
Airport authorities and security agencies have launched an investigation into the incident. All passengers have since been safely evacuated, and the situation is now reported to be under control.
