A major road accident took place in Himachal Pradesh's Mandi district on Monday afternoon when a private bus overturned near Bhawana Chowk in the Sundernagar subdivision, leaving around 19 passengers injured.
The accident occurred while the bus was travelling on its scheduled route. According to eyewitnesses, the driver suddenly lost control of the vehicle near Bhawana Chowk, causing the bus to overturn on the road. The crash triggered panic as passengers screamed for help and bystanders rushed to the scene.
Local residents immediately began rescue operations, pulling trapped passengers out of the overturned bus before emergency responders arrived. Police, administrative officials, and ambulance teams reached the spot shortly after being informed of the incident.
All the injured passengers were shifted to Sundernagar Hospital for immediate medical treatment. Hospital authorities said the injured are receiving care, while officials continue to monitor their condition. Police have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
