Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi marked her electoral debut on Wednesday by filing her nomination for the upcoming Wayanad Lok Sabha bypoll, highlighting her 35 years of political experience that began at age 17 when she campaigned for her late father, Rajiv Gandhi, in 1989.
Speaking to a large gathering in Kalpetta ahead of the November 13 bypoll, she highlighted her extensive campaign efforts for her mother, Sonia Gandhi, brother Rahul Gandhi, and other party colleagues. This announcement followed a statement by BJP candidate Navya Haridas, who claimed she had more experience representing the people than Priyanka.
Prominent leaders including Congress Parliamentary Party President Sonia Gandhi, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, Congress Chief Mallikarjun Kharge, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, and other senior party figures were present on stage during Priyanka's address.
