A 52-year-old property dealer died by suicide in Ludhiana after allegedly consuming a poisonous substance late at night. The deceased has been identified as Parvinder alias Rimpy Aneja, a resident of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar.
According to family members, Aneja consumed sulphas tablets at his residence, following which his condition deteriorated rapidly. He was first rushed to a nearby private hospital, but due to his critical state, he was later shifted to Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, where he died during treatment.
The victim’s wife, Jasleen Kaur, revealed that Aneja recorded a video before his death, in which he named 11 individuals, including a woman, alleging that they owed him crores of rupees. She claimed that the financial stress caused by non-payment had deeply disturbed him.
In the video, Aneja reportedly stated that complete details of the financial transactions and the accused were kept inside his car. He also made an emotional appeal to a relative to take care of his wife and children. The deceased’s son is currently residing in Canada.
Police said that a case has been registered against 11 accused based on the statement of the victim’s wife. Those named in the FIR include Rajesh Bansal, Vinod Syal, Harpreet Singh (an employee of the Improvement Trust), Pankaj Gupta, Khushwant Singh, property dealers Rishamjeet Singh and Ajit Singh Swaraj, Manju Goyal, Anil Kumar, Ranveer Kaur Gill, and Varun Goyal.
The postmortem was conducted at the civil hospital on Thursday, and further investigation is underway to verify the allegations and financial transactions mentioned in the video.
