Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson of the Punjab State Election Commission said that a total 3683 nominations for Sarpanches and 11734 nominations for Panches have been rejected by Returning Officers during the scrutiny process in the Gram Panchayat Elections 2024.
In Amritsar, 247 nominations for Sarpanches and 1387 nominations for Panches rejected. In Bathinda, 68 nominations for Sarpanches and 248 nominations for Panches, Barnala, 20 for Sarpanches and 30 for Panches, In Fatehgarh Sahib, 106 nominations for Sarpanches and 242 nominations for Panches rejected.
In Faridkot, 70 nominations for Sarpanches and 209 for Panches, in Fazilka, 52 Sarpanches and 138 for Panches, in Gurdaspur, 1208 Sarpanches and 3533 Panches, in Hoshiarpur, 18 Sarpanches and 87 Panches, in Jalandhar, 68 Sarpanches and 214 Panches, in Kapurthala, 45 Sarpanches and 190 Panches, in Ludhiana, 134 Sarpanches and 537 Panches, in Mansa, 15 Sarpanches and 45 Panches,in Malerkotla, 4 Sarpanches and 23 Panches, in Moga, 115 Sarpanches and 376 Panches, in SAS Nagar, 122 Sarpanches and 389 Panches, in Sri Muktsar Sahib, 98 Sarpanches and 303 Panches, in SBS Nagar, 22 Sarpanches and 59 Panches, in Patiala, 384 Sarpanches and 713 Panches rejected, In Pathankot, 19 nominations for Sarpanches and 65 nominations for Panches rejected.
