Tension gripped parts of Punjab on Monday after two separate incidents of vandalism were reported at Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) offices in different districts.

In Zirakpur, located in Mohali district, around five masked youths allegedly entered a BJP office and created a ruckus. The accused reportedly threw ink on walls, posters, and a photograph of BJP leader Gurdarshan Saini. The sudden incident triggered panic among those present in the office, after which the attackers fled the spot.

In another incident in Tarn Taran, a group of 15 to 20 individuals allegedly stormed a BJP office and indulged in vandalism. The group is said to have damaged office furniture including chairs and other property, while also raising slogans. Posters reading “Punjab Ekta Zindabad” and “BJP Murdabad” were also reportedly thrown inside the office premises.

BJP district president Harjeet Singh Sandhu stated that he was on his way to attend a protest when the group entered the office and began damaging property. He alleged that the attackers continued sloganeering and attempted to disturb the atmosphere.

Following both incidents, security has been tightened in the concerned areas, and the situation is being monitored. No injuries were reported in either case.
