Punjab’s civic body election results reflected the political strength of several senior leaders across the state, with the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) dominating most municipal corporations and councils, while Congress retained influence in select regions.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s constituency Dhuri saw a massive AAP victory, with the party winning 19 out of 21 seats. In Mohali, AAP leaders including MLA Kulwant Singh’s son Sarabjit Singh Samana secured wins, strengthening the party’s position.

Congress staged a strong comeback in Kapurthala under senior leader Rana Gurjit Singh, winning 30 out of 50 seats. Former CM Charanjit Singh Channi also saw Congress dominate Chamkaur Sahib by winning 11 of 13 wards.

AAP gained an edge in Batala and Sunam, where Cabinet Minister Aman Arora led the party to a sweeping victory. Meanwhile, Punjab Congress chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring faced a setback in Gidderbaha, where AAP won 17 out of 19 seats.

In another highlight, a Congress-backed husband-wife duo, Rishi Sharma and Isha Sharma, won municipal council elections from separate wards, attracting attention during the poll results.
